28/365 3/20/10 More snow?

It snowed again in Liberty, Missouri. I have to remember it's still March. I love this walking path. I try to take pictures of it each season.

A Steak n Shake on Shawnee Mission Pkwy, in Overland Park, KS, has rounded corners on these corner walls--That's because it was a G.D. Ritzy's, originally. G.D. Ritzy's, a chain I know little about, had similar 45-degree-angle walls, but there was no corner--It is rounded.

Former KFC, now Valvoline Oil Change, 2_wm

NOT MY PIC. From Microsoft's Bing.com

I hate it when I don't grab a pic of a building, and then it gets torn down. Recently, I posted a night shot of a Valvoline oil change place, on the site of a former KFC.

I remember when the KFC was standing, if not necessarily operating. It was still standing at the time of the awful school bus accident here, in 2005.

Because even sources like Bing.com are subject to being updated, here are a couple of captures, showing the Pizza Hut, the bank, and the KFC. Note that the KFC sits in exactly the same spot as the Valvoline place, on the same triangular piece of property.

Former Safeway store in Liberty, MO._wm

EDITED VERSION: Lightened the exposure

This is in Liberty MO, not far from William Jewell College. It was a furniture store most recently, but appears to be abandoned now.

It is of a particular Marina Style in which the two sides have straight beams, not the up-swept continuations of the curved beams.

I am guessing this was for cost reduction, as a 75-foot curved laminated beam, with a series of straight ones at the ends, is cheaper than a 100-ft laminated beam which is curved for all 100 feet.
